Can I get your approval to buy the Clear Path for Jira app on the Atlassian Marketplace? We have a lot of teams spending extra time in meetings because they don’t understand how all the tickets in their backlog relate, and I feel Clear Path’s visual first and dependency first approach will help.

This tool lets us create, edit, and understand the dependencies across tickets, as well as plan our Product Increments with more certainty in our schedule. It aligns to Agile concepts much better than all the Waterfall development tools based on Gantt charts that we use now.

It will cost us between $40 (at the 50 user tier) to $320 for 500 users a month (see Link to Pricing). At this low price, if one agile team saves 15 minutes in a scrum ceremony, the app has already paid for itself.

I am writing to seek your approval for the purchase of Clear Path for Jira for our team's Agile Development processes. Clear Path’s visual first and dependency first approach helps Agile teams understand and execute their work unlike any other tool I have ever seen.

Our team manages all our work in Jira, but key concepts required for successful delivery are often missed because it is hard to comprehend all our assigned work when it reads like a giant to-do list in the Jira backlog.

Clear Path solves this by creating a blueprint for implementation. You can use any Jira query, even saved ones we are using on Dashboards and reports, and visualizes the tickets in a diagram, clearly outlining their implementation order.

The key benefits that I see are:

1. Tickets that can be parallelized and which cannot are clearly understood from the start

2. Bottlenecks are easily identified and can be implemented before they become an issue

3. Tickets driving our schedule risk and technical risk are easily identified, enabling us to mitigate their risk and stay on schedule

4. The backlog becomes more self-serve for the developers, so they no longer have to wait for the product team to get out of their meetings to answer their questions. This is perfect for remote work

5. Simply put, we’ll be more confident we can stay on schedule

The most powerful feature is the Auto-plan in Clear Path’s sprint planning mode. Auto-plan can take the data we already have inputted in Jira and produce a more accurate projected timeline. It also auto creates the sprints and assigns the tickets for us – all we have to do now is focus on executing.

There really is no risk of trying the app. Unlike most apps, Clear Path requires no setup, and it does not use any custom attributes – just standard Jira attributes. It will not interfere with any other Jira Apps, and if we uninstall before the 30 day trial is over then we have not lost anything.
